Why are kids bedding and bedding accessories important, you may ask? After much thought on this subject, I will start out by saying that it your kids position of importance and belonging in the family, and in the household. It is important for children to know that they are loved and valued. I believe that having their own rooms and their own possessions is critical to their well being. Their room is a place where they can escape form the world. It is familiar ground where they are in control. It is their turf. It gives them peace of mind. It is a place where they can relax and be themselves and think through their problems. Well, you get the idea.
When you are designing your kid’s bedrooms, there are a couple things to keep in mind. For instance the age of the child is important. This is true for a couple reasons.
The first reason is to help the parents save money by doing it right. Most of us are money conscious these days. It is expensive to change your kid’s room, and then do it over again in a year or two. We should take into consideration the age of the child. Why? Because if they are in a transition age, (going from baby to toddler, or from toddler to big kids or from big kids to adolescence) it may make sense to do a surface upgrade. By that I mean do a few things that will make changes that won’t break the bank. Then in a year or two it may be time to set a theme or to change the theme already in place, and do a more in depth room makeover.
The child should be given some choices. Children should have some input into the theme and color scheme of their room. This shows that you have some confidence, respect and above all that you love them enough to let them have a say in what they will have in their own room. It also helps the child’s ability to make decisions. This is important in the early years of a child’s life. By letting them help make decisions it can be a nudge in the direction of independence. This takes courage and diplomacy on the parent’s part, but in the end you should be able to comprise and work things out. Good Luck!
Let’s talk a little bit about theme, color and accessories. These are some things that are important if we want to design a great room that has continuity. It takes some talent to coordinate colors and objects and then organize them in a way that is inviting and appealing. I am no expert on this subject, but I believe that if you start with the theme, that the theme will dictate the colors, and the colors will dictate the accessories. You see, it is a progression thing.
Theme, this is what you and your child will decide what will be the subject for your child’s room. The theme should be something that your child has a passion for such as dinosaurs, trucks, flowers, bugs, sports, wild animals, or pets and so on. This is not by any means a complete list. This list is just a suggestion for you to think about what your child has a passion for and how to select the theme for their room. Once your theme is set, you can move on to the next step which is deciding on what colors to paint the walls. Be sure to research, find out what colors the accessories and bedding come in. This should, give you an idea on what color you will paint the walls of the room in question.
The color of the room is the thing that holds the room together. I think of it as a kind of glue. Color is a binder for a room. To use color and get results that you will be happy with will take some thought and planning. If you have a talent in this area, it should be easy to make things flow. It is usually obvious when you enter a room if the color is right or wrong. Kids love color, so be creative.
Most accessories are very colorful and that is why accessories coordinate well with the kid’s bedding. That is if the kid’s bedding, and accessories have the same theme. Accessories are available in a wide range of items. There are: clocks, wall boarders, rugs, wall hangings (with different color frames), pillows, growth charts, curtains and many more.
I hope that this article will be helpful to many parents. I think you can see that it is not so hard to accomplish setting up a great room for your children. Think of kid’s bedding and bedding accessories as tools to help you achieve your goal of having a great room for your children.

Remodeling? Kids Bedding, And Bedding Accessories Are Important

When designing a bedroom for a child you must remember who the room belongs to. Be sure your child has some input in the selections you make.
Sometimes kids seem to want everything they see, or not, depending on the child’s personality and age. They do not understand how to design their rooms. You will need lots of patience, sometimes you will have to be firm with them and say “no” we’re not going to do that. The theme is important. Will it be animals, space ships, fire trucks, cowboys, bugs, flowers, ships, trains, or something else?
Here are some questions you will have to answer.
For instance:
1. What is the amount of money you are going to spend?
2. What colors are you going to use?
3. How much control will you give your child when it comes to picking what they want?
4. What product/s will fit your needs best?
5. Are you going to do the whole room or just the bed? (There are lots of kids bedding possibilities, when this is coupled with the right bedding accessories you will have a winning combination).
6. Will you paint? What about wall borders? Pictures on the Wall? How about rugs, clocks, growth charts, sheets, comforters and the list can go on and on.
Like most things, this project can get out of hand. What starts out with a simple idea can soon become a very complicated problem. You need to spend some time considering how far do you want to take this? The age of your child may be a factor. If he/she is at a transformation age, it may not be a good idea to change the whole room if in a year or two they will outgrow what you are going to do. For instance, if your child is an infant, get toddler bedding. This way you will save by buying the bedding once instead of twice.
Be sure to spend some time with your child, maybe looking at different websites. Letting them see what is available, this can be a big help. It will tell you what your child has a passion for, and can be useful in choosing everything from your theme to colors of products.
At this point it seems that we have more questions than answers. However, it is important to evaluate the whole idea, come up with different scenarios and settle on one. Then the trick is to stick to it. This will save you time and money in the long run. Changing your mind in the middle of a project can get expensive. A well thought out plan is a money saver!
The reward is at the end of the project when you see the delight on your child’s face. This is the truly great thing about kids, their excitement. Wouldn’t it be great to have that kind of zest for your life? The end result will make all your hard work pay off.
